Obituary of Margaret E. Logan
The death of Margaret E. (Baker) Logan formerly of 142 Bedell Avenue, Saint John, wife of the late John T. Logan, occurred unexpectedly on Thursday, October 21, 2004 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, NS, while visiting her daughter. Born in Chipman, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Emma Mabel (Mennette) Baker. Mrs. Logan attended Chipman Superior School, the Union Endicott High School, Endicott, NY, Mount Allison University and Modern Business College. She was a member of Portland United Church, a life member of the Friendship Circle of Portland United Church, a life member of the Federated Alumni of Mount Allison, a member of the Union Club, Charter member of the United Church Women, former member of the Carleton Curling Club and former president of the Kirk Workers of the West Side Kirk. Mrs. Logan was formerly employed in the office of the Saint John Tug Boat Company and as Supervisor of Arts and Crafts at the Lancaster Veterans Hospital. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Carter (Doug) of Ottawa, ON and Elaine Foster (Wayne) of Bridgewater, NS, two sisters, Dorothy Simpson (Carl) of Rexdale, ON and Aldena Darrah (Alfred) of Chipman, two grandsons, Jonathan Carter and Michael Carter, two grand daughters, Marion Foster and Kathleen Publicover (Nigel), several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Reid, Edward and Donald Baker and two sisters, Beatrice Logan and Mabel Baker. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday 6-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Portland United Church on Monday, October 25, 2004 at 2:00 PM. Following cremation, interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances to the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
