Obituary of Ethel Mary Watson
The death of Ethel Mary Watson, formerly of School Avenue, Rothesay, NB, wife of the late A. W. L. “Bob” Watson, occurred on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Ridgewood Veteran's Wing, Saint John. Born in Victoria Co., New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late George and Hannah (Harmer) Townsley. Mrs. Watson was a veteran of World War II, serving as Corporal with the Canadian Air Force and was an accountant at Maritime Sod for 15 years, before her retirement in 1987. She was a member of St. Augustine's Anglican Church, the ACW and the church choir and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #68. She is survived by one daughter, Marta Watson and her husband David Bell of Rothesay, one sister, Margaret Sutherland of Nictau, NB, two grandchildren, Aaron Townsley Daigle and Shawn David Daigle, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter, Ann, son Michael and seven siblings. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday, June 5, 2004 from 9-10 AM. Funeral service will follow at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to the Saint John Alzheimer Society or the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated.
