Obituary of Ruby Lillian Hodgin
The death of Ruby (Saunders) Hodgin of Meenans Cove Road, Quispamsis, NB, occurred on Friday, September 10th, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late George and Ella-Mae (Driscol) Nelson. Ruby was the last surviving member of her immediate family, was a member of the Kennebecasis Seniors Club and loved the Monday seniors bowling league at the K.V. Lanes. Ruby especially enjoyed arts and crafts operating a ceramic studio for many years out of her own home in Gondola Point. Ruby was a special aunt to Ann Robertson (Dave); grandmother to Kim Holland (Shane) and Tim Robertson (Tracy Cloutier) and “GG” to Hailey and Kelsey Holland; she is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Phyllis and Evelyn Ramsay; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Cecil Saunders; second husband, Walter Hodgin; two sisters, Annie Strachan and Mae Pickett; two brothers, George and John Nelson; three half-brothers, Herbert, Otty and Don Ramsay; a niece and several nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424, with visitation on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 13th, 2004 at 1:00 pm from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
