Obituary of Nora W. Cole

The death of Nora W. Cole of Saint John, NB occurred on Thursday, September 2, 2004 at the Dr. V.A. Snow Center in Hampton, NB. Nora was in her 100th year. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late William P. and Ellen (McCarthy) Cole and had worked for 52 years at the New Brunswick Telephone Company, retiring as Revenue and Accounting Supervisor. Nora was a member of the St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary, the Irish Canadian Cultural Association, the Telephone Pioneers, a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Parish, and the Catholic Women's League. Survived by one sister-in-law, Dorothy P. Cole of Saint John; thirteen nieces and nephews; many grand-nieces and grand-nephews; many great-grand-nieces and great-grand-nephews. Predeceased by five brothers, William P. Jr., Thomas L., J. Edmund, Gerald J. and Francis L. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Tuesday, September 7, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. John the Baptist Church, 54 Broad St., Saint John on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at 11 am. with interment following in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Music Opportunities Fund for School District 8 Students or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
