Obituary of John Raymond McCluskey
McCLUSKEY, John Raymond ? The death of John R. McCluskey, husband of M. Eileen (Fortune) McCluskey of Saint John, NB, occurred on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John a son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Willis) McCluskey, John had served overseas during WWII and had been employed as a carpenter with the Saint John Board of School Trustees for many years before retirement. He was a member of Stella Maris Parish and a former member of the Cathedral Parish where he had served on Parish Council. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, John R. Jr. (Dorothy) of Midland, NB, Kevin and Michael (Mary-Kim) of Saint John; two daughters, Mary McCluskey of Saint John and Monica McGrath (Carl) of Newfoundland; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two sisters, Kathleen Logan and Genevieve Sautiere and two brothers, Charles and Francis. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Church, Bayside Drive on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
