Obituary of James Frederick Hanson
The death of James Frederick Hanson of Saint John, husband of Lucilla (Alcantara) Hanson, occurred on Sunday, May 29, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Leo and Bertha May (Moore) Hanson. James was a Veteran of World War II, serving overseas in the Canadian Army with the Carleton York Regiment. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, James, Hugh, both of Toronto, ON, Phillip and Frederick both of Saint John, four daughters, Caroline, Barbara, Gail and Laura Lee, all of Ontario, one brother, Gordon M. (Doris) of Scotch Ridge, NB, one sister, Gladys Bouchard of Bathurst, sister-in-law, Edna Hanson of Saint John, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Hanson. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at 12:00 Noon. Interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery, Field of Honor. Remembrances to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute to a Veteran service on Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
