Obituary of Glenna May Carr
The death of Glenna May Carr of Rocmaura Nursing Home, Saint John, wife of the late James H. Carr, occurred on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at her residence. Born in Zionville, NB, on April 14, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Frank N. and Emma Maud (Woodworth) Hill. Glenna was a former member of Centenary-Queen Square United Church, having been a singer in their choir for some years. She was a member of Portland United Church, sung in the choir and was a charter member of the Ada Myles UCW and also sung in the Saint John Oratorio Choir. Mrs. Carr was an avid gardener and loved having her family and friends around her. She was always doing little things for others, loved to laugh and she enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by one son, David H. Carr of British Columbia, two brothers, Allan R. Hill (Phyllis) of Oakville, ON and F. Roland Hill (Anne) of Gondola Point, five grandchildren, Lynn Korczak of Dartmouth, NS, Robert Carr (Holly) of Saint John, Tania, Douglas Carr of British Columbia and Krista Learmonth of Saint John, six great grandchildren, five nephews and several cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Ann Marie Carr. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Portland United Church, Newport Crescent, Saint John, on Friday, July 22, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances to Portland United Church or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
