Obituary of Rosemarie Beaton

With heavy hearts, but for appreciation for a life well-lived, the family of Rosemarie Beaton, wife of the late Finlay Joseph Beaton, announce her peaceful passing on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Born April 21, 1937 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Greta (Fillmore) and Patrick Furlong.

Mom loved to be surrounded by her family and enjoyed seeing her grandchildren. She worked as a caregiver in Grand Bay Daycare and was a full time mother and wife. She loved being a pet mom to her Snoopy and Napoleon. As a young woman she was an amazing speed skater and athlete.

Rosemarie is survived by five children: Holly Beaton, Michael Beaton, Mark Beaton, Jennifer Beaton, and Rosemarie Hogan (Chris); six grandchildren: Joseph Beaton (Christina), Alexander Beaton, Michelle Beaton (Thomas), Sharell Salkey (Joel), Matthew Beaton (Jessica), Tavia Salkey (Sebastian), and Sidnee Cormier; great-grandchildren, Hasin Beaton and Roman Chase; and her sister, Juanita Hosford. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her step-father, Patrick Furlong; sons, David Beaton and Kim Beaton; brother, Cecil “Junior” Black; and sister, Doreen Davidson.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 5 to 8 pm.
