Obituary of John Joseph Ballard
The death of John Joseph Ballard of Wasson Court, the last surviving member of his immediate family, husband of the late Mary (Daley) Ballard, occurred on Friday, June 25, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was a son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Landers) Ballard. John was a life long resident of Saint John and was employed with the Canadian National Railroad as an assistant baggage manager until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of St. Pius X Parish. He is survived by sons Raymond (Madonna) Ballard of Goulds, NF, Douglas Ballard, Kevin Ballard both of Saint John, Kris (Raymonde) Ballard of Yellowknife and Joseph (Therese) Ballard of Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA, daughters Doreen Arthur of Saint John, Patricia Engalls of PEI, daughter-in-law Mary Kennedy Ballard of BC, grandchildren Kory Arthur, Edmond Ballard, Michael Ballard, Stephanie Ballard, Beth Anne Ballard, Kenneth Engalls, Glen Engalls, Crystal Engalls and Amanda Engalls, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by brothers Gerald, Harold, Raymond, Louis and Donald; sisters Phyllis Hansen, Mary Legere and Doreen Ballard. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Monday, June 28, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 from St. Pius X at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
