Obituary of Evelyn Mildred Mills
The death of Evelyn Mildred Mills, wife of the late J. Arthur Mills of Saint John, NB, occurred on Sunday, October 3, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John she was a daughter of Newfoundland parents, the late William John and Gertrude Blanche (Meadus) Day. Evelyn was very active in her community having been a lifelong resident of Saint John; she was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, President of the A.C.W. of All Saints, Saint John Deanery A.C.W., Altar Guild, Diocesan lay reader, Sunday School teacher at All Saints, volunteer at East Saint John Food Bank, and volunteer at S.J.R.H. Evelyn will be missed by her loving family and many friends. Survived by two sons, The Rev. John (Marsha) Mills of Perth-Andover, NB and David (Elaine) Mills of Stephenville, NFLD; three daughters, Doreen Woodroffe and Nancy (Emery) Galbraith, both of Saint John and Carol (Patrick) Holton of Prince George, BC; one brother Roy (Wanda) Day of Toronto, ON; four sisters, Eileen Neal of Upham, Phyllis (Walter) Chase of Ottawa, ON, Eleanor Thomas of South Bay, NB and Joan (William) Munford of Sussex, NB; seventeen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, parents, two brothers and twin infant sons, Gary and Gordon. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from All Saints Anglican Church, 35 Park Ave., Saint John on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at 11am with interment following in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to the Memorial or Building Fund of All Saints Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
