Obituary of A. Ottis Adams
The death of A. Ottis Adams, formerly of Golden Grove, occurred on Saturday, June 12, 2004, at the Loch Lomond Villa. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Born in Golden Grove, NB, on April 24, 1907, he was the son of the late Albert Edward and Martha Bess (Scott) Adams. Mr. Adams lived and farmed in Golden Grove most of his life and retired in 1978 from Mackay Forest Products. He was a member of the Lower Golden Grove United Church and a 72 year member of the Orange Lodge. He was a member of the Victoria Lodge #6, from which he received his 60 year pin, and later transferred to the Courtenay Bay Lodge #8. He is survived by sister-in-law, Margaret Adams (Clarence), many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by brothers, Hedley and Clarence and sisters, Annie Johnston, Jane Scott, Lila Steeves and Mabel Stephenson. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 1:00 PM. Interment in St. Andrews Cemetery, Golden Grove. Remembrances to the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated. The Orange Lodge will hold a tribute service on Monday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
