Obituary of Keith Malcolm Wilson

Husband of Carol (Smith) Wilson passed away peacefully at his home in Saint John on Sunday, July 10th, 2005. He was born in Maces Bay, son of the late Charles Newcomb and Beatrice Wilson. During his business career he was President of the Saint John TugBoat Company, Saint John Propane Gas, Nova Scotia Propane Gas, Fundy Supplies Ltd., Snowflake Lime Ltd., Murray and Gregory Ltd., Saint John Terminals, Standard Dredging, among many others. Mr. Wilson had a strong interest in his community. He was involved for many years with the Family Plus, the Salvation Army, Saint John Boys and Girls Club and was honoured by them for his years of service. Also, Rotary International, which named him a Paul Harris Fellow. He received the Community Star Award from the Department of Health and Community Services. He was associated with the YM-YWCA, receiving the Red Triangle Award in 2001. He served on the Vestry of St. John's (Stone) Church and through his association with Hillcrest Baptist Church created a scholarship program for the Atlantic Baptist College. He was a Charter Member of St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation Board and the Secretary of the Charles Wilson Charitable Foundation before turning it over to the Greater Saint John Community Foundation. He was an ardent fisherman and a supporter of the Cherry Brook Zoo and Ducks Unlimited. For many years he was a member of a Bible Study group. He is survived by his wife, Carol; two daughters: Fawn, (Mrs. Kenneth White) and Milo, (Mrs. Kevin Cruikshank), four grandchildren: Emily White and Mark, Kathryn and David Cruikshank; also one sister: Alfretta, (Mrs. Glenn Scott) and a brother: Conrad (Lorna) Wilson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Gail (Scott) Camelier, Graeme Scott, Rob Wilson and Jeff Wilson and several cousins. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., from St. John's (Stone) Church, 87 Carleton Street. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
