Obituary of Wilfred Ernest Clayton
The death of Wilfred Ernest "Bud" Clayton, of St. Martins, NB, husband of Barbara (McDonough) Clayton, occurred on Monday, June 28, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Donald Raymond and Edith Dorothy (Briggs) Clayton. Mr. Clayton was a retired Pipe Fitter and a member of Local #213. He was a member of St. Martins Baptist Church and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #63, St. Martins, where he had served as Vice President. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Brian D. (Pamela) of St. Martins, one brother, Eugene (Dorothy) of St. Martins, two sisters, Donna McLean (Maynard) of Musquash and Lynn Cyr (George) of Taylor Lake, NB, two sisters-in-law, Frances Clayton of Baxter's Corner and Janet Clayton of St. Martins, two grandchildren, Brian Thayne (Leanne) of St. Martins and Stacey Elizabeth (Ron Brittain) of Salt Springs, three great grandchildren, Cody and Kyle Clayton and Mya Brittain, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Donald. By request of Wilfred there will be no visiting at the funeral home. Following cremation, interment will take place in St. Martins at a later date. Remembrances to the Royal Canadian Legion, St. Martins Branch #63 or the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated. Arrangements under the direction of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
