Obituary of Carl Murdock Brown
The death of Carl Murdock Brown, husband of Alice (Monahan) Brown occurred peacefully on August 14, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 84. Born on Miscou Island, NB, he was the son of the late George and Rena (Vibert) Brown. Carl was employed by Saint John Ship Building Limited and then owned and operated a taxi cab for Vet's Taxi for several years. Carl was quiet family man who took great pleasure in his sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He and his wife Alice loved to go camping around New Brunswick, Ontario and the U.S.A. He enjoyed wrestling, both live and on video. Carl is survived by four sons, Wayne (Suzanne), Musquodobit Harbour, NS, Lawrence (Marion), California, USA, Hazen, Saint John, NB, and David (Pat), Saint John, NB, eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, four sisters, Elsie Brown, Jane Harper, Lorna Ferguson, all of Saint John, NB, and Lyma Crocker, Bangor, Maine, USA, sister in law Patricia Bonner and several nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by Elmer, Byron, MacKenzie, Lettie, Della Colbourne and Melinda Wirth. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visiting will be held on Sunday, 7-9 PM, and Monday 2-4, 7-9 PM, with funeral on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at 2:00 PM in Brenan's Chapel, interment to follow in St Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances to Carl may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or donors choice.
