Obituary of Leonard Eldon Smith
The death of Leonard Eldon 'Len' Smith, beloved husband of Susan (Marsh) Smith, occurred peacefully on April 30, 2004, surrounded by his loving family, at his home. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Gordon and Edna (Smith) Smith. He was employed with Likely's Construction Ltd., the Grain Elevator and the City of Saint John in the Works Department. Len loved to play pool, sing and play his guitar and enjoyed outdoor activities including horseracing. Besides his wife he is survived by his sons Andrew and Timothy of Saint John, his daughter Kelly and her husband Adel Villareal of Saint John, their mother Judy Davidson of Saint John, his brothers Gordon (Jenny) of Sussex, Jim of Quispamsis, David (Carolyn) of Saint John, Donald (Ruth) of Saint John, Raymond (Hilda) Saint John, Dannie (Dawn) of Quispamsis, Wally (Doddier-Valerie) of St. Martins, his sisters Phyllis (Edmond) Jacquard of Saint John, Elizabeth Driscoll of the Kingston Peninsula, Emma (Leo) Horgan of Ontario, Carol (Orval) Stere of Ontario, his grandchildren Judson, Aiden and Sheldon, his special nieces Cheyenne, Madison and Alexis, his special nephew Zachery and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Doris McGaghey. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at 11:00 AM, from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances made to the charity of choice would be appreciated.
