Obituary of James Patrick Farren
The death of James Patrick Farren of Saint John, NB, husband of the late Audrey (Sherwood) Farren, occurred on Friday, October 8, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was a son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (McCafferty) Farren. James had served from 1939 ? 1945 in World War II with the Air Force and was overseas with 6th Group, Heavy Bomber Command, England; following his discharge he worked as a Port Checker and was an honorary member of the Longshoremen 273 and was active in the Union. Survived by one son, James Patrick Farren Jr. (Kim) of Saint John; one daughter, Margaret Farren (Larry) of Saint John; three grandchildren, Abby Jane Mitchell of South Carolina, Nathan James Farren and Alesha Farren; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one brother, Edward Farren and two sisters, Margaret Farren and Elizabeth Chase. James enjoyed his dog and leaves behind his faithful companion, a black Labrador retriever, Aquilla. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday and Tuesday, October 11 & 12, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at 2:15 pm, with interment to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or a charity of the donor's choice.
