Obituary of Leonard Russell DeLong
The death of L. Russell (Rusty) DeLong, of Charlottetown, husband of Mary (Campbell) DeLong, occurred on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was a son of the late Leonard and Elizabeth (Stewart) DeLong. Rusty was employed with CNCP as a manager of Microwave Services until his retirement in 1988. He is survived by son Lee (Cheryl MacKenzie) DeLong of Welsford; daughters Dawn (Jerry) DeLong-Rideout of Hammonds Plains, NS, Lynn DeLong of Charlottetown; sister Dorothy (George) Gates of Winnipeg; grandchildren David, Matthew, Jayme Rideout and Kaitlyn MacKenzie; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Kenneth, Hazen and Paul. By request there will be no visiting. A memorial service will be held at Salisbury Funeral Home Chapel, 3350 Rt. 106 Salisbury West (506-372-4800) on Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in Wilson Church Cemetery, Little River, NB. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424).
