Obituary of Marion Laura MacFarlane
The death of Marion Laura MacFarlane of 57 Wellesley Avenue, Saint John, occurred on Monday, November 1, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Minto, NB, she was the daughter of the late Herbert L. and Gertrude (Wadman) MacFarlane. Miss MacFarlane was a graduate of Provincial Normal School and had taught in Kings County, the Minto area and in Saint John for a number of years before her retirement. She was of St. Matthews Presbyterian Church, the International Order of Kings Daughters and Sons, the Friendly Fellowship of Main Street Baptist Church the Retired Teachers Association and the Royal Canadian College of Organists. She is survived by one brother, Murray (Gretchen) of Saint John, two sisters, Margaret Noble and Ruth Jones both of Saint John, several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by two brothers, Lester and George. By request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at St. Matthews Presbyterian Church, Douglas Avenue, Saint John on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at 1:00 PM. Following cremation interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated. Arrangements under the direction of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
