Obituary of Viola Ethelwyn Johnston

JOHNSTON, VIOLA E.- On Friday, June 11, 2004, the doors of Heaven opened to welcome Viola Ethelwyn (Sellen) Johnston, wife of the late William (Bill) Johnston. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian Sellen. She was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother who worked all her life, both in and out of the home, to help provide for her family. In her early years she worked at the Paradise Restaurant, Dan's Restaurant, many years at Graham's Restaurant and finished her career at the Lily Lake Pavilion. She was the mother to six grateful children, William (Darlene), Mary Craig (Allan), Doreen Bordage (Emile), Susan Presenza (David Hachey), Christine O'Keefe (Michael) and Barbara Colwell (Paul) and grandmother to 9 grandchildren, Billy, Bobby, Susan, Danielle, Christopher, Chrissy, Nick, Joey and Sean. She is also survived by three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Bobby. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday 7-9 PM and Monday 10-11 AM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, June 14, 2004 at 11:00 AM.
