Obituary of Janet V. Bourque

The death of Janet V. “Jen” Bourque of 35 Pokiok Road, Saint John, wife of the late Marc J. Bourque, occurred on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Victoria, BC, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Janet (Campbell) Turner. Jen was an avid supporter of Baton Twirling and was known as “Nana Bourque” to many twirlers around the city, especially to her own daughter's group “Shirley's Spinnerettes”. Jen will also be remembered by family, friends and neighbours as always having time to put the kettle on to share a cup of tea with love and kindness. She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her. She is survived by three daughters, Marie Bulger (Bill) of Ottawa, ON, Cathy Bourque-Painter and Shirley Bourque-Legere (Dale), both of Saint John, Melody Lindsay-Cole, who is and always will be thought as a daughter/sister and friend of the family, four granddaughters, Jo-anne Bulger of Ottawa, ON, L. Cathy Painter-Keleher (Jeff) of Saint John, Carolyn Waycott (Kirk) of Musquash and Susan Lamb (Anthony) of St Andrews, four step-grandchildren, Tina, Stacey, D.J. and Krista, six great grandchildren, Bradley and Ashley Bulger, Brittany and Amber Keleher and Lila and Emily Waycott, seven step-great grandchildren, Amanda, Allen, Destiny, McKenzie, Cody, Kerrissa and Desiree, one sister, Marie Harrisson of Victoria, BC and one niece, Beverly Stokes of Victoria, BC. She was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and James Turner. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, Somerset Street, Saint John on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances to the IWK Children's Hospital, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the SJRH Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.
