Obituary of Antoine Joseph Gallant
The death of Antoine (Tony) Gallant, husband of Melina (Landry) Gallant, occurred on Saturday, July 23rd, 2005 at Ridgewood Veteran's Wing (Liberty Lane). Antoine was born in Rosaireville, NB, son of the late Dominique and Eulalie (Arseneault) Gallant. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in France, Belgium, Netherlands, and Britain as a gunner. After the war, Antoine worked as a machine operator for CP Rail for 40 years and a carpenter until his retirement. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son Donald (Valerie) of Winfield, BC; two daughters: Jocelyn (Albert) Gagnon and Paulette (Leonard) Thibault both of Saint John, NB; one sister: Theresa (Fred) Daigle of Moncton, NB; seven grandchildren: Troy and Michelle Gallant, Tony (Deanna) and Paul Gagnon, Krista (Jeff) Brennan and Jessica and Laura Thibault; one great grandson: Jayden Brennan. Antoine was predeceased by his parents; one infant daughter: Giselle Marie; six brothers: Leonide, Romuald, Amable, Benoit, Theodore and Francois; three sisters: Anna, Sophie, and Marguerite. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424. With visitation on Monday 7-9 pm and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joachim's Parish on Wednesday July 27th, 2005 at 11am. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. A Legion Tribute Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday 7 pm. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saint John and to Ridgewood Veteran's Wing Comfort Fund or the charity of the donor's choice.
