Obituary of May Ruth Watters
The death of May (Stubbs) Watters, wife of the late Frederick W. Watters who passed away in 1970, of Saint John, NB passed away on Friday, June 24, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John a daughter of the late Frederick and Jennie (Hart) Stubbs, she was a life long member of Portland United Church, a member of The Eastern Star, Pythian Sisters, Ada Miles Group, North End Silver Threads, Anglin Neighbourhood Club and the Fairview Bowling League in which she bowled at her 95th birthday. She was also active in the plays at Portland United Church. May lived life to the fullest and always had time for her family. Survived by four daughters: Dorothy Keohan of Moncton, NB, Donna Sproul of Saint John, Doris (William) Nelson of Saint John and Darlene (Ian) Silliker of Calgary, AB; daughter-in-law, Jean Watters of Saint John; sister-in-law, Ruby Watters of Apohaqui; thirteen grandchildren: Michael, Peter (Norah) Keohan and Christine (Eric) Cohen, Marilyn (Christopher) Gosse, Rebecca Kearry, Philip (Elizabeth Underwood), Jeffrey (Lisa) and Brent (Laurie) Nelson, Heather (Armand) Cormier, Linda (David) Allen, Laura VanZuylen, Dale (Josee) and David Silliker; nineteen great-grandchildren: Andrea, Tara, Ryleigh, Jared, Mitchell, Kelvin, Maygan, James, Jacob, Jaxen, Simon, Ian, Alex, James, Brandon, Ryan, Katherine, Michelle and Janine and several cousins, nephews and nieces. Dr. G. Robert Webb cared for May and became a special friend to her. Predeceased by her brothers: Frederick C., George and Everett Stubbs; sister: Evelyn Elder; sons: Frederick, Robert, Paul and Gary Watters; daughters, Ruth Ann and Jean Elizabeth and grandson John Patrick Joseph Keohan. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (506-634-7424) with visiting on Saturday from 7?9 PM and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2005 from Portland United Church, 50 Newport, Saint John at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Portland United Benevolant Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.
