Obituary of Douglas E. Gorsline
The death of Douglas E. Gorsline of Bains Corner, NB, companion of Edna Chiasson, occurred on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Picton, ON, he was the son of the late Howlett Benson and Marion Winnifred (Howard) Gorsline. Douglas was formerly employed with Consolidated Bathurst and Laurie's Enterprise. He enjoyed camping, Sunday drives with his family and playing cards. Besides Edna he is survived by two daughters, Crystal D. Raynes (Mark) and Chantal May (Robert), both of Saint John, grand children, Hannah, Connor and Madison, sisters-in-law, Ann Marsha and Linda Fiset (Jean Marc), Edna's family, Margaret and Tony Coulton and their children, Jessica and Melissa, Wayne and Mary Chiasson and their son, Danny and grand daughter Tessa, Shirley and Kevin James and their children, Ryan and Kaitlyn and Michael Chiasson and his son, Mike Jr., several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Edna's infant grandchild, Nathan James, one brother, Lionel and one sister, Rheba. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday 7-9 PM and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, Waterloo Street, Saint John, on Friday, July 9, 2004 at 12:00 Noon. Following cremation, interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Arthritis Society or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
