Obituary of Shirley Madeline Elizabet McHugh
Surrounded by her loving family, the death of Shirley (Betty) Madeline Elizabeth McHugh occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at the age of 72 years. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on January 2, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Jennie (Rodday) Howe. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Theodore (Bill) McHugh (November 23, 1981), brothers, John D. (Jackie), Bobbie and infant sister Eileen. She is survived by her brother, Charles Howe of Saint John and her children, Brenda and husband, Jimmy Law of Waterloo, ON, Michael and his wife, Pamela of Edmonton, AB and Colleen and her husband, Donald Sellars of Pennfield, NB. She was a very proud grandmother of Alexis and Peter. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces. Betty was a member of Stella Maris Parish. She retired from Irving Oil Ltd. after 28 years of dedicated service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Church, 201 Bayside Drive at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2004. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the Canadian Diabetes Association. The arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506)634-7424. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the C.C.U., 5”A” North, Saint John Regional Hospital for their kind and gentle care of our dear mother.
