Obituary of James Alexander Kincade

The death of James A. 'Pokey' Kincade, age 94, of Saint John, husband of the late A. May (Humphrey) Kincade, occurred on July 9, 2004, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family whom he held in high esteem. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late James and Beulah (Appleby) Kincade. Jim worked as a baker and later as a car salesman in the Saint John area. Jim's love for music was demonstrated through many years of volunteer service at area nursing homes along with other members of his group, performing monthly at the Loch Lomond Villa for over 17 years. He is survived by his daughters May Munroe of Saint John, Barbara Bloom (Peter) of Ontario, his son Kenneth Kincade (Lorraine), sisters Olive Walsh and Beulah Lamb of Saint John, Myrna Locke of Kincardine, ON, his brother Murray Kincade of Saint John, 11 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter Doreen Darling, sister Velma Hughes and brothers Beverly and John. At the family's request there will not be visiting hours at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at 10:00 AM, from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials made to the charity of donor's choice would be appreciated.
