Obituary of Shirley Aileen Johnson
JOHNSON, SHIRLEY AILEEN, (nee Clark) (Gaudet) (Johnson)- On Sunday, April 3, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Shirley A. Johnson peacefully passed away, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 13, 1935 to Emma (Byers) and Milton Clark, Shirley lived her entire life in Saint John, NB. Her working career as a cake decorator was spent at Sobey's and Dominion for many years. She then found her creative side and opened Leisure Time Ceramics where she spent many happy hours teaching others and socializing. Summers were spent at her summer camp in Big Cove on the Washademoak Lake. Her last employment was at the Golden Ball. Her pleasures in life were her family and friends, knitting, sewing and Bingo. Shirley was pre-deceased by her first husband Lionel Byron Gaudet in 1972 and her second husband George Walter Johnson in 1990. Also pre-deceased by her sisters Erminie, Helen and Leila and her brother William. She is survived by sons, Roger (Angela) of Saint John, Lionel of Oromocto, Patrick (Keri Lynn) of Winnipeg, MB and step-son James of Saint John and daughters Gail Buckley (Jim) of Saint John, Joyce Ricketson (Ken) of Calgary, AB, Penny Gaudet, and step-daughter Tanya Leblanc (David) both of Saint John. Nanny will be missed by her grandchildren Candice, Amanda, Dustin, Craig, Brandon, Danny, Kati, Cody, Jamey, Chance, Cole, Byron, Victoria and Julia, one brother, Alan, four sisters, Bonny, Donna, Peggy, and Isabel and numerous nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Following cremation, interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
