Obituary of Ronald David Smith
The death of Ronald David “Smitty” Smith of 29 Partellow Street, Saint John, husband of Sandra (Jeffrey) Smith, occurred on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on February 12, 1941, he was the son of the Ronald C. J. Smith of Saint John and the late Mildred “Totty” (Peters) Smith. Smitty was a Labourer with Rothesay Paper for 30 years before his retirement. He was a member of Stella Maris Parish, the Canadian Lebanon Association and was an avid pool player often found at Dooley's in the Loch Lomond Mall. He was a loving husband and father and will be sadly missed by family and friends. Besides his wife and father, he is survived by one son, Steven David Smith (Glenda) of Camrose, AB, one daughter, Shari Smith of Saint John, two brothers, Allen Smith (Barb) of Fredericton and Stephen Smith of Quispamsis, three sisters, Judy McGrath (Bob) of Rothesay, Colleen Mabee (Mark) of Rothesay and Maureen Smith of Saint John, grandson, Ryan Smith, granddaughters, Drew, Heather and Kate Smith, several cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Church on Monday, March 7, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to Cystic Fibrosis would be appreciated by the family.
