Obituary of Thomas Walter Holmes
Holmes, Thomas Walter The death of Thomas W. Holmes, husband of Mary E.(Teehan) Holmes, occurred on May 16, 2005, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Walter and Helen (Butler) Holmes. He was a printer-pressman by trade working for Barnes-Hopkins and then Quebecor. He enjoyed a host of outdoor actives including hunting, fishing and golf and was a member of the ATV Club and the Sussex Golf Club. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Joe Holmes (Crystal) of Saint John, his daughters Mary Couillard (Eugene) of Saint John, Linda Trenholm (Darren) of Oxford, NS, his brother Joseph Holmes (Anne) of Saint John, his sisters Mary Hitchcock of Sussex, Margaret Galbraith (Malcolm) of Woodstock, ON, Patricia Curbishley (Herbert) of Springhill, NB, Agnes Mitchell of Saint John, Jean McKeon (Terry) of Saint John, his grandchildren Alex Holmes and Evelyn and Patrick Couillard, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Victoria Couillard. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and Wednesday and Thursday from 2-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 20, 2005, at 11:00 am, from St. Joachim's Church. Remembrances made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation of the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
