Obituary of Audrey Verna Gibbon
Audrey Verna Gibbon, wife of the late Dr. A. Douglas Gibbon, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of the late William Fielding and Verna (Campbell) Balcom. She was a long time resident of Rothesay and Saint John. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte A. (Wallace) Turnbull of Rothesay, and her three sons William F. (Caroline) Gibbon of Barrie, Ont., Dr. Stephen B. (Candace) Gibbon of Halifax, NS, and James H. (Keltie) Gibbon of Rothesay, grandchildren; Deborah, Donald, Stephen, Susan, Gillian, Angus and Matthew, six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Doris Balcom. Her sister Elaine Arnold, predeceased her. She was a member of the Westfield Golf and Country Club, Riverside Country Club, Union Club, Eclectic Reading Club and St. Paul's Anglican Church, Rothesay. She had been active in the New Brunswick Historical Society, the Lady Moyra Ponsonby Chapter of the I.O.D.E. and the New Brunswick Cempetitive Music Festival. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at 2:00 PM, from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Rothesay. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. The family would appreciate remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the charity of the donor's choice.
