Obituary of Miriam Kathleen Fowler
The death of Miriam (Babe) Kathleen Fowler, Saint John, NB, wife of the late William Fowler occurred December 16, 2004, after a noble battle with cancer at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary (Willis) Bursey. Babe was a long time and faithful member of Waterloo Street Baptist Church, Saint John, NB. She was an elementary school teacher in Saint John for 22 years and surrounding districts for 8 years. She and her husband William loved traveling, summers spent in Shediac, NB, and camping in PEI, she loved to play bingo and go to the horse races. Babe was also a life member of Tops # 1704, and was to receive a special award in the USA in 2005. Babe's family was the center point of her life and existence she will be missed immensely by her many friends and family. Babe is survived by one son Robert (Bob) Fowler, Cornwall, PEI, two daughters, Jackaleen (Jackie) Robertson, (Richard), Saint John, NB and Mary Jean Johnson, (Harold), Moncton, NB, six grandchildren; Travis Fowler, (Cheryll), Wendy Robertson, (Joe), Chris Johnson, (Julie), Tammy Capstick, (Brad), Gillian Johnson, (Alastair), Laurlea MacLane, (Vaughn), five great grandchildren; Brandon Fowler, Dylan and Alastair Capstick, Skye MacLane and Brooklyn Rose, also several cousins, nieces and nephews. Babe is predeceased by her parents, sister Margaret Scribner, three brothers; Harold, Herbert and William Bursey. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, 2-4, 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Paradise Row on Monday, December 20, 2004 at 11:00 AM. A private family interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery. At Babe's request in lieu of flowers, memorials made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Waterloo Street Baptist Church, and the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
