Obituary of Joan Opal Hall

The death of Joan Opal Hall of Saint John, NB, wife of the late James L. Hall, occurred on Thursday, March 4, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Tracy, NB, daughter of the late Herbert and Carrie (Harris) Banks. Joan had been employed for a number of years as a clerk with the C.P.R. and as secretary at Portland United Church, Saint John; she enjoyed socializing, gardening, and especially traveling but the real joy of her life was her grandchildren. Survived by two sons, Brian London of St. Peters, NS and Paul London of Saint John; one daughter, Alyson (John) Harrity of Kingston, NB; one step-son, Jamie (Cindy) Hall of Saint John; three step-daughters, Marilyn (David) Lester of Saint John, Nancy (Peter) Kantola of Thunder Bay, ON, and Judy (Guy) Wilson of Grand Prarie, Alberta; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Predeceased by one brother, Luther Banks. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Friday, March 5, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Carleton Kirk United Church, Saint John West on Saturday, March 6, 2004 at 11 am. with interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery Extension in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Carleton Kirk Memorial Fund, Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or a charity of the donor's choice.
