Obituary of Brian Dunham Clifford
The death of Brian Dunham Clifford of Saint John, husband of Mary L. (Johnston) Clifford, occurred on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Millard and Florence (Dunham) Clifford. Brian was a well known and respected optician for 50 years in the Saint John area. He loved spending time with his two grandchildren, fishing, gardening, bowling, playing cards and their annual trips to Florida. He was a quiet man who loved his work and will be sadly missed by his family and close friends. Brian is survived by his wife Mary, one daughter Jean Magee (Mark), Quispamsis, NB, two brothers John Clifford (Helen) and Bruce Clifford (Odette), of Saint John, NB, one sister Anne Cameron (Don) of Clifton Royal, NB, two grandchildren Brian and Laura Magee of Quispamsis, NB, and several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother George Clifford. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424), with visitation on Thursday 7-9 PM, Friday 2-4, 7-9 PM. Funeral service to be held Saturday, February 22, 2003, at 10:00 AM from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to Palliative Care, Saint John Regional Hospital or Extra Mural Hospital in lieu of flowers would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com
