Obituary of Leslie Ernest Elder
The death of Leslie Ernest Elder of 222 Purdy Drive, Saint John East, husband of Freda (Daigle) Elder, occurred on Thursday, October 2, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Olinville, NB, he was the son of the late Ernest David and Margaret (Miller) Elder. Mr. Elder was employed with Crosby Molasses for many years, before his retirement. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Gary Elder of Saint John, Wayne Elder (Julie) of Saint John and Bruce Elder (Nancy) of Golden Grove, two daughters, Linda Saunders (Wally) of Saint John and Bonnie Nelson (Phillip) of British Columbia, two step-sons, Michael Collings of Camp Gagetown and Kenneth Collings (Carol) of Quispamsis, one step-daughter, Ann-Marie Collings of Saint John, one brother, Charles Elder of Saint John, one sister, Mabel Michaelson of Grand Bay-Westfield, 11 grandchildren, one great grandson, several nieces and nephews. By request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. Memorial service will be held at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), on Monday, October 6, 2003 at 10:00 AM. Interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances to the NB Lung Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated.
