Obituary of Leslie Freeman Carson
The death of Leslie Carson of Saint John occurred on Friday, June 13, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Ingleside, NB the son of the late Ora and Viva (Ward) Carson. Leslie was employed with Canada Post as a Letter Carrier until his retirement. He was an ardent hat collector, enjoyed fishing and was active with Big Brothers and Big Sisters, was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 2 and attended First Wesleyan Church, Boar's Head Road. Leslie is survived by his wife, Arlene (Kierstead)(Charlton); two sons, James (Louise) of Hunter Lake and Kenneth (Trena) of Saint John; one daughter, Joan (Fred) Stilwell of Sydney; four stepchildren, Lloyd (Marie) Charlton of Hoyt, Elizabeth (Robert) Shepherd of Saint John, Barbara Charlton of Saint John and Cheryl (Scott) Shillington of Saint John; twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, five step grandchildren, one brother Frank of Guelph, several nieces, nephews and one aunt. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia; an infant son, Paul; a daughter, Linda Doucet and a sister, Almeta McFadden. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Sunday and Monday, June 15 & 16, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion will be holding a tribute service on Monday evening at 7 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
