Obituary of Dorothy A. MacKenzie

The death of Dorothy A. (Hannah) MacKenzie, wife of Douglas G. MacKenzie, occurred on May 27, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Hamilton, ON, she was the daughter of Dorothy V. H. (Sarre) (Hannah) Hammond and the late George Hannah. She was a long time employee of Robinson Atlantic. She enjoyed her time gardening, knitting and with plastic canvas. Besides her husband and mother she is survived by her sons Donald (Kama) of Quispamsis, David (Donna) of Saint John, her daughter Deborah McCluskey (Fred Jr.) of Saint John, her brothers Howard Hammond, John Hammond and Robert Hammond, her sisters Lorraine Vanier, Marilyn Beyea, and Margaret (Peggy) Beyea, all of Saint John, her grandchildren Bradley, Laurie and Ryan, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother George Hannah and her step-father Elmer Hammond. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Following cremation the funeral will be held on Friday, May 30, 2003, at 2:15PM, from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
