Obituary of Kathleen Doris DeWitt
The death of Kathleen Doris DeWitt, occurred on March 2, 2004 at Rocmaura Nursing Home, Saint John, NB. Wife of the late Harold D. DeWitt, she was the daughter of the late Percival B. McLean and Clotilda E. McLean. Born at Robertson's Point, NB, she resided in Saint John from the age of 18. Kathleen attended Modern Business College and was employed by Knowleton & Gillchrist Insurance prior to her marriage. She was a longtime and formerly active member of Central United Baptist Church. Kathleen was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her daughters; Lorna (Joe) Pickup of Quispamsis, NB and Mabel (Don) Sloat of Rothesay, NB; granddaughters; Andrea (David) Young, Beth (Robert) Hynes, both of Halifax, NS and Kristen Sloat (Guy Daigle) of Quispamsis, NB; one great granddaughter, Abigail Young and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers; Hugh, Hudson, Seeley, Ronald, and Vernon. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 5, 2004 at 11:00AM from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
