Obituary of Kenneth L. Saunders

The death of Kenneth Lloyd Saunders of Gondola Point occurred Friday, March 5, 2004 peacefully at home with his loving partner of 29 years, Barbara (Watson) Mabey, and his family by his side. Born in Gondola Point, NB, he was a son of the late Herbert and Carrie (Dann) Saunders. Ken was retired from Irving Paper and was an inspiration and joy to everyone who knew him. His special gift was to love and be loved by young and old alike. His sense of humour has given Barb and his family many wonderful memories that we will all treasure. We all, quite simply, adored him. He is survived by his partner, Barbara (Watson) Mabey and her children, Cindy MacGregor, Stephen, Michael, Tim and Jonathan Mabey; brother, Robert Saunders; and his sisters, Vera (Saunders) Stephenson, Erma (Saunders) Bergeron, Inez (Saunders) Parsons; daughter, Christina; and son, Stephen; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His sister, Helen (Saunders) Wilson, predeceased him. Our family recognizes a special and deep thank you to Cindy Bergeron for her gift of care and to Yvon and Claudette Cormier, a gift of themselves. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424) where visitation will be on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Brenan's Chapel on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. A reception will be held following the funeral service at the home of Henri and Cindy Bergeron, 137 James Renforth Drive, Renforth. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donors' choice.
