Obituary of Joseph M. Cook
The death of Mr. Joseph M. Cook of Ellerdale Street, Saint John, husband of Celina (Tena) M. (DeRoche) Cook, occurred on Thursday, May 29, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Joseph and Hazel (Magee) Cook. Mr. Cook was a life long resident of Saint John and was employed as a Blacksmith with Saint John Iron Works for many years before his retirement. He was a member of Carleton York Club, Glenview United Church and in his earlier years, he was an avid sportsman. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Malcolm J. (Barbara) of Ottawa, ON, David M. (Linda) of Saint John, Larry J. (Bobbi) of Lake Utopia and Stephen A. (Jennifer) of Saint John, two sisters, Barbara Richardson of Hampton and Dorothy Earle of Saint John, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Gordon, Jackie, Percy and Donald and two sisters, Hazel Derry and Madeline Jenkins. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 31, 2003, at 1:00 PM. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the Shriners' Hospital for Crippled Children would be appreciated.
