Obituary of Beatrice Gertrude Tingley
The death of Beatrice Gertrude Tingley, of Golden Grove Road, Saint John, wife of the late Arthur Milton Tingley, occurred on Saturday, September 6, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Gertrude (Latimore) MacKinnon. Mrs. Tingley was a Practical Nurse by profession and was a member of St. Mary-St. Bartholomew Church. She was an active volunteer at Romero House Soup-Kitchen, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughter's of the Nile and volunteered with the Saint John Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Beatrice was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Canadian Army and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. She is survived by three sons, Arthur (Barbara) of Rothesay, Gary (Geraldine) of Saint John and Peter (Jean) of Quispamsis, one daughter, Cynthia Hubbard (Kevin) of Saint John, three brothers, Harold “Mackie” MacKinnon (Shirley), Frank MacKinnon (Hazel) and Richard MacKinnon (Helen), all of Quispamsis, one sister, Christina Duplacey of Saint John, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, George, grandson Arthur and sisters, Jean Starkey and Frances Starkey. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at 11:00 AM. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Upper Golden Grove. Remembrances to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated.
