Obituary of Alice M. Linton
The death of Miss Alice M. Linton occurred on November 2, 2003, at her residence, the Carleton Kirk Lodge. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Martha A. (Wilmot) Linton. She was employed with T. H. Estabrook Co. and Brook Bond Co. for over 43 years. She was a member of Portland United Church and served as treasurer of the Sunday School. Alice was a member of the IODE, LaTour Chapter, for over fifty years and held various offices Secretary and Treasurer. She was a member of Lancaster Diamonds Group and the Hillcrest Villagers Group. She served with the Community Concert Association. She is survived by her brother Murray S. Linton of Saint John, several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Wendell R. Linton, and her sisters Ruth; Mrs. Fred K. Brenan, Bertha; Mrs. Horace Mayes, Dorothy; Mrs. Maxwell Lingley, and Margaret; Mrs. J. Malcolm Redding. Although there will be no visiting, the funeral service will be held from Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at 2:15 PM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Old Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the IWK Children's Hospital or Portland United Church would be appreciated.
