Obituary of Charles Freeman Colpitts

The death of Charles Colpitts of Saint John, NB occurred on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Mapleton, Albert County, NB, son of the late Alan and Myrtle (Soper) Colpitts. He was a graduate of Elgin High School, Elgin, NB and the Agricultural College in Truro, NS and had been employed with the Federal Department of Agriculture as Plant Inspector for Import and Export. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Survived by his wife, Laura (Young) Colpitts; three sons, John (Faye Hicks) Colpitts of Halifax, Robert (Dawn) Colpitts of Saint John and David Colpitts of Toronto; one sister, Margaret (Edward) Cashman of Ottawa; 2 grandchildren, Luke and Rachel and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, John William Colpitts. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday, December 22, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Central United Baptist Church, 42 Leinster St., Saint John on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at 2 pm. Interment will be in the Elgin Cemetery in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
