Obituary of Murray Albert Braid

The death of Murray A. Braid, much loved husband of Audrey (Waugh) Braid, occurred on August 25, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Frederick E. and Ellen (Dunham) Braid. He served during WW II with the Canadian Army Service Corps. in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany and landed during the Normandy Invasion. He was employed with Sobey's retiring as Manager after 32 years of service. Besides his beloved wife he is survived by his brothers Ralph Braid (Flora) of Renforth, Ronald Braid of Lower Sackville, his sister Maude Nice (Norman) of Saint John, his brother-in-law Donald Waugh (Nancy) of Saint John, his sisters-in-law Shirley heresy (Don) of Saint John, Claudia McKeil (Neil) of Moncton, and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and his great-great nephew. His brother Willard and his sisters Ethel, Jessie and Gertrude predeceased him. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2003, at 2:15 PM, from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. The family would appreciate remembrances to the charity of the donor's choice.
