Obituary of William Perley Carvell
The death of William (Bill) P. Carvell of Long Reach, NB, occurred December 3, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Long Reach, NB, he was the son of the late Frank and Perley (Armstrong) Carvell. Bill raised his family and lived all his life in Long Reach. He worked in various positions at NBTel, retiring after 34 years of service in 1985, making many wonderful friends. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed his retirement years hunting, fishing and communing with nature. Bill is survived by three sons, William R. Carvell (Anne), Long Reach, NB, Frank Carvell, Long Reach, NB, (Shelley Gardner), Victor Carvell, (Terry Smith), Long Reach, NB, and two daughters Jacqueline Carvell, Long Reach, NB and Deborah Carvell (Robert Hargrove), Saint John, NB, one sister F. Irene (Carvell) McWhirter, (Don), four grandchildren Jesse, Samara, Jason Carvell and Nick Gandy, special friend Joan Pollock, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife P. Audrey (Kingston) Carvell. Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB in charge of arrangements. Visiting will be held in the Long Reach United Church, Saturday from 12:00 until the funeral service at 1:00 pm with The Rev. Elizabeth Stevenson officiating, interment to follow in the Long Reach United Church Cemetery. Remembrances to the Long Reach United Church Memorial Fund, where Bill faithfully served his Lord would be appreciated by the family.
