Obituary of Edgar Joseph Bourque
The death of Edgar Joseph Bourque, husband of the late Constance (Fennell) Bourque, formerly of Saint John and currently residing at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex, NB occurred on April 5, 2004, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton. Born in St. Paul, NB, he was the son of the late Anthony and Catherine (Boucher) Bourque. Edgar was employed with the Irving Pulp and Paper Mill until 1966 then ran his own grocery store and boiler business until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed hockey and had a love for hunting and fishing but his greatest pleasure in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his son Larry (Lucy) Bourque of Fort McMurray, AB, his daughters Sandra Bourque of Sussex, NB, Lorraine (Charles) Hoyt of Fredericton, NB, his sisters Rita Trainor of Toronto, ON, Lena (Joe) Leckman of Montreal, PQ, his sister-in-law Janet Bourque, Rita Hunter and Josephine Arrowsmith. Edgar is also survived by his grandchildren Danny Bourque, Gary Bourque, Lori White, David McIntyre, Jennifer Nouwens, Darren McIntyre, Cheryl Rushton and Ian Presley, his ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers John, Mark and Leonard Bourque, his sisters Irene Bourque, Hermin Fritz, and Sister Mary Bourque and his granddaughter Lianne Bourque. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, April 8, 2004, at 11:00 AM, from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Palliative Care Unit or the charity of Choice would be appreciated.
