Obituary of Hartley G. Logan
The death of Hartley Garfield Logan, age 84, of Oakland Street, occurred on Saturday, November 29, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Leonard and Leah (Foster) Logan. Hartley had served overseas in WWII as a gunner in the 8th Army Field Regiment, was employed with the CPR as a trucker for 40 ½ years and with Atkins Construction for 42 ½ years, a member of Royal Canadian Legion branch # 64, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by one brother Douglas (Nedra) Logan of Saint John, two sisters Phyllis (Gordon) Davidson of Salt Springs and Frances Baird of Saint John, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Hartley will be sadly missed by all. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers Norman and William, two sisters Eleanor and Elodie. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, November 30, 2003 and Monday, December 1, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at 1:00 pm from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. There will be a Royal Canadian Legion tribute service on Monday, December 1, 2003 at 7:00 pm.
