Obituary of June Elizabeth Wasson
The death of June Elizabeth (Thorne, Reeder) Wasson, wife of Herman H. Wasson, occurred on January 12, 2004 at Kennebec Manor Nursing Home, Saint John, NB. Born in Boundry Creek, NB, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ina (Thorne) Thorne. June was an active member of Main Street Baptist Church, Saint John, belonging to the Harambe Missionary Society and Visitation Committee. She worked at MRA Department Store, for many years as manager of the Millinery Department and at Spear Millinery, she was also an Avon representative in the Cranston Avenue area of Saint John. June and her husband Herman were associated with the Meals On Wheels program in the city for a number of years. June was a people person and very devoted to her husband, son, grandchildren and extended family. June is survived by her husband Herman Wasson, one son Ken Reeder ( Jackie), Fredericton, NB, one sister Leah McFaul, Brampton, Ont, two grandchildren Kimberley Reeder, Fredericton, NB and James Reeder, Toronto, Ont., one great grandchild, Caleb Noble, eight nieces, Bessie O'Brian, Marie Corey, Maxine Corey, Margaret Rose Bethune (Ross), Joan Keith (Richard), Anne Hazen (Bob), Mary McFaul and Colleen Wall (Danny), four nephews, Wallace Corey (Lynne), Ron Jones (Audrey) and David and Albert McFaul. She is predeceased by her first husband Ford Reeder, one brother Guy Thorne, two sisters Miriam Prosser and Ethel Corey, several cousins especially remembering Gladys Holbeche. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday, 7-9 PM and Wednesday, 2-4, 7-9 PM. Service will be held at the Main Street Baptist Church, Saint John, NB, at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2004, interment to follow in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Main Street Baptist Church, World Vision or the donor choice would be appreciated by the family.
