Obituary of Donald Earle Silliker
The death of Don Silliker occurred on Thursday, September 4th, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on March 6th, 1931, in Sillikers, NB., he was the son of the late Warren and Martha (Matchett) Silliker. He was a member of Local 799 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union, Miramichi, NB., he worked construction for many years, he was an avid reader and he loved to fish in his much loved Miramichi River, where he was an NB Guide for many years. Don is survived by his wife, Velma (Underhill), children, Cathy McKinney (Tom) of Saint John, NB, Susan of Burnaby, BC, Randy of Saint John, NB and Karen Sanford (Randy) of Saint John, NB, grandchildren, Leah McKinney, Jeff and Meghan Silliker, Derek and Kristen Sanford, sister, Elva Allison, sister-in-law, Stella Silliker, brother, Aubrey Silliker (Genevive) and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, Jeffrey Silliker, sister, Vivian Allison and brother, Lloyd Silliker. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506)634-7424 and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Bell's Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi, NB (506)622-3600. The service will be held on Monday, September, 8th, 2003 at 2:00 PM in the H. Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel at Bell's Funeral Home, Miramichi, with Rev. Garth Maxwell officiating. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Anglican Cemetery, Millerton, NB. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation or any charity of the donor's choice.
