Obituary of Peter David Barter

The death of Mr. Peter David Barter of Nauwigewauk, NB, loving husband of Margaret (DeMerchant) Barter occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB, on Wednesday, May 7, 2003. Born in Grand-Cascapedia, PQ, he was the son of the late Phillip and Inez (Cole) Barter. Peter was a member of the Seventh- Day Adventist Church. He loved the Lord and lead many people to the Lord. He served the Canadian Army in the sixties spending time in Germany but for most of his life his career involved Real Estate and Carpentry. Real Estate paid the bills but his passion was woodworking and cabinetry. Besides his parents, Peter is predeceased by his brothers; Paul and Morrell and three sisters; Helen, Barbara and Jane. He is survived by his wife of nearly 13 years, Margaret, sons; Chad L'Horondelle, St. Catherines, OT, David (Melanie) Barter, Nauwigewauk, NB, daughter, Stephanie (Mrs. Gregory Nainani), Augusta, GA, sisters; Lydia, Carol, Pat, Shirley, and Leela, a sister-in-law; Dorothy Barter as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424) with visiting on Saturday only from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service from Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 509 Woodward Ave (off of Millidge Ave.), Saint John, NB on Sunday, May 11, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with private family interment to follow on Monday at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. No flowers please, at Peter's request. Remembrances may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
