Obituary of Mary Blanche Jennings

The death of Mary Blanche Jennings of Adelaide Street, Saint John, occurred on Sunday, January 4, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Canso, Nova Scotia, daughter of the late Seymour and Margaret Ellen (Hanlon) Hurst, she had been a resident of Saint John most of her life. She had been employed with ComCare as a ComCare worker, joined Lantic Sugar for a number of years, and had served as a nurse's aide at Centracare, formerly the Provincial Hospital, before her retirement. Mary was a member of Branch #2, Royal Canadian Legion Ladies' Auxiliary and was an avid bowler and card player. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Harding Jennings. She is survived by her son Granville (Barbara) of Quispamsis, sister Elva Copeland of Halifax, two grandchildren Anthony (Tony) and Shawn Jennings; two great-grandchildren Ashley and Katlyin, and her very special friend Harry Campbell of Saint John West. Visitation will take place at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 from 2 ? 4 pm and 7 ? 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Animal Rescue League or the charity of the donor's choice. Royal Canadian Legion Ladies' Auxiliary will hold a service on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
