Obituary of Daniel Joseph Baillie
Daniel Joseph Baillie, born February 26, 1914, eldest of 3 children of the late Agnes and Peter Baillie of Glasgow, Scotland. Educated at Mung's Academy, Glasgow, graduated as Marine engineer. Served in the Merchant Navy during WW II. Predeceased by his brother Peter, and his first wife Vera (Tierney) in 1974. Immigrated to Montreal, Canada in the early 50's where he was employed as Chief Engineer with Scott Misner Shipping until he retired in 1979. Twice blessed in love with his second wife Gladys (Collett) Jacobsen December 15, 1979, to January 21st, 2003. Danny and Gladys moved to Rothesay, NB, December 15th, 2000. Survived by sister Agnes Macdonald, nephew Val Macdonald (Margaret), niece Ann Macdonald, all of Glasgow, Scotland, nephew Earl Chisolm (Judy) of Florida, two step-sons Rev. Wally Collett (Iris) of Quispamsis and Bernie Jacobsen (Barbara) of Fall River, NS. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 7-9 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 6, 2004, at 11:00 AM, from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Building Fund or charity of choice would be appreciated. www.brenansfh.com
